CHRISTINE ROUSSEAU MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

About Christine

Chris Rousseau is an alumnus of the Gobles graduating Class of 1980. Chris and her family were long time Gobles residents. After graduating from Gobles High School, Chris attended Western Michigan University where she obtained her bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education while completing her student teaching here at Gobles High School. After working in the field of education as a teacher at Mendon High School and as Technology Facilitator at Otsego High School, owner and operator of Mom ‘n’ John’s in Plainwell, Chris made her way back to Gobles Public Schools working as an Administrative Assistant within the District Office. Chris’s happy place was spending time with family and friends and reading. There was nothing better than getting wrapped up within a good book. Chris’s eyes would light up with the talk of one of her favorite authors releasing a new book. Chris’s passion for reading and kind personality allowed for her to notice the students who may not be the best in areas traditionally recognized by the mainstream but excel in unique activities or achievements that can often be underappreciated. She was a true champion for those that beat to their own drum and find success writing their own life stories one chapter at a time.
